About this role

We are looking for a Sr/Staff AI Engineer with 4-12 years of experience to build the AI agent platform powering the future of corporate finance automation. You'll join a flat, high-ownership team working directly with the CTO and end customers to ship audit-ready AI agents that automate core accounting workflows for mid-market companies.

What will you be doing?

Building and shipping production AI agents that automate finance workflows (revenue recognition, reconciliation, month-end close, reporting)

Designing agent frameworks, context systems, orchestration, evals, and verification layers that the entire engineering team builds on

Working directly with end customers (CFOs, controllers) to understand workflows and translate them into AI-powered solutions

Owning modules end-to-end across the full stack—from LLM pipeline and infrastructure to backend and UX

Contributing to platform abstractions and horizontal systems that multiply the output of the entire team

Key Requirements

CS or Math degree from a top-14 US university (Stanford, MIT, Berkeley, CMU, Georgia Tech, Princeton, Purdue, Carnegie Mellon, Columbia, etc.)

Published research in AI/ML (peer-reviewed papers at top venues like NeurIPS, ICML, ICLR, ACL) — even from undergrad/masters counts

2+ years building and shipping production AI agents with real-world users (not demos or prototypes)

Strong backend engineering experience at high-quality companies (Stripe, Uber, Ramp, Robinhood, Plaid, Block, etc.) with evidence of building fundamental, scaled systems

Fluency with AI coding tools (Cursor, Claude Code) and strong communication skills for customer-facing interactions
