Title – Forklift Driver

 

Summary of Position

 

This position is responsible for removing finished product from the main production line and transporting it to designated warehouse storage locations using a forklift. The operator moves materials and products throughout production, warehouse, and storage areas to support efficient workflow. A strong focus on safety, accuracy, and careful operation of industrial equipment is essential to keep materials in the right place at the right time.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Loads products as requested on/off truck trailers.
  • Stores finished goods in designated spaces in the warehouse or manufacturing area.
  • Maintains efficient use of time.
  • Follows safe work procedures for forklift operators.
  • Observes safe work practices.
  • Minimum 1 year of forklift experience
  • Rotating shifts (1st week 3 days and 2nd week 4 days)

 

Requirements:   
  • High School education or GED and three months related experience or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. 
  • Ability to write simple correspondence. 
  • Ability to effectively present information one-on-one to other employees of the organization.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. 
  • Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally move up to 200 pounds by hand on conveyor roller system
