Part Inspector (1st or 2nd Shift)

About this role

Position Summary:
Work within a production team to meet production goals and meet part specific requirements for pre-inspection, inspection, and sorting.
 
Essential Job Functions: 
¨ Understand and implement the ISO 14001 EMS and 9001 QMS policies as they pertain to the position, and perform internal audits of those policies and procedures
¨ Always conduct oneself in a professional manner
¨ Demonstrate comprehension of all production processes pertaining to inspection and related procedures, able to handle dynamic work priorities
¨ Understand and properly categorize various plating defects accurately
¨ Complete entry of all required data into software programs with accuracy
¨ Communicate plating variations and concerns to plating teams
¨ Continually learn and train on new parts and new requirements
¨ Operate job specific equipment (customer gages, XRF machine, and tools)
¨ Transport and organize materials, packaging and load carts as necessary
¨ Perform visual inspection of parts on plating rack.
¨ Performs other duties as requested by supervisor

Work Environment:
-Close-toed shoes are required when working in and around production areas.
-Temperature of manufacturing plant can become humid and hot
-Follow general safety guidelines and procedures when working with and around machinery
 
Physical Requirements:
-Prolonged standing/walking
-(May) require lifting and carrying up to 70 lbs
-Repetitive motions
 
Education and Experience:
-High School Diploma or Equivalent Experience
 
A worker shall:  
  • Work in compliance with the provisions of the Occupational Safety & Health Act and the regulations.
  • Report to his or her employer or supervisor the absence of or defect in any equipment or protective of which the worker is aware and which may endanger himself, herself or another worker.
  • To ensure that no unauthorized people enter the company facilities.  Verify that all doors are locked and lights, equipment, etc. are turned off when required.
  • Ensure that the building is a clean and safe workplace at all times.
 
No worker shall:
  • Remove or make ineffective any protective device required by the regulations or by his or her employer, without providing an adequate temporary protective device and when the need for removing or making ineffective the protective device has ceased, the protective device shall be replaced immediately.
  • Use or operate any equipment, machine, device or thing or work in a manner that may endanger himself, herself or any other worker.
  • Engage in any prank, contest, feat of strength, unnecessary running or rough and boisterous conduct.
