Lube Technician
About this role
The main objective of the Lube Technician is to perform inspections, preventative maintenance, and minor repairs on heavy mobile equipment. This work is vital for maintaining the safety and reliability of valuable assets used in the mining process.
Essential Functions
- Perform detailed inspections of equipment and document current or potential problems
- Complete preventative maintenance tasks including lubrication
- Maintain work and oil and parts storage areas in a clean, safe condition
- Maintain inventories of parts and supplies used for preventative maintenance
- Properly dispose of used fluids and other wastes
- Perform minor repairs or other work as needed
- Participate in the planning of future work

Work Environment
This job operates 100% of the time in an underground or surface mine setting. This role frequently operates heavy equipment.
Physical Demands
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; talk or hear; and taste or smell. The employee must occasionally lift or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position. Ability to work a split shift or a night shift is preferred.
Required Education and Experience
- High School degree
- 1 + year related experience
- Valid US driver's license, CDL preferred
