Shift Nights (6pm-6:30am on a Rotating 223 schedule)
SUMMARY
The primary role of the Maintenance Mechanic is to provide competent & effective Electrical and Mechanical Maintenance support to the Plant and Facility operations in a safe manner. The Maintenance Mechanic will be responsible for maintaining, adjusting and repairing of plant machinery to meet industry standards while ensuring compliance with all regulatory agencies, including but not limited to USDA, OSHA, FDA, EPA and Local Government. The position will require a flexible schedule focusing on preventive maintenance and timely repairs.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

- Installed, and/or troubleshoot and repair Manufacturing equipment such as: assembly, conveyors, forming, mixing (Oven operations is a plus).
- Follows work instructions and OSHA safety rules, including the use of all PPE and other safety equipment in an industrial environment.
- Diagnose problems, replace and repair parts, detect and replace defective items, test and make final adjustments for high-speed production equipment.
- Diagnose and repair all electrical functions.
- Must be able to prioritize and triage in a fast-paced work environment.
- Must be able to maintain equipment in accordance with diagrams and manufactures specifications while following preventative maintenance work orders and scheduled PM’S.
- Generate work orders, and parts request.
- Be able to use some machine shop, and other related machines as required to repair parts or fabricate modifications.
- Complete work orders and PMs and the documentation for that work
- Ability to use mechanical and pneumatic processes: including cylinders and glue machines, date coders.
- Operate equipment such as forklifts, scissors lifts, and other appropriate equipment
- Maintain current GMP, Safety, Food Safety, & technical knowledge by actively participating in training.
QUALIFICATIONS:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The following list that follows is representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required:
- 2+ years of experience working in the food manufacturing industry.
- 4 years of experience working as an experienced level maintenance mechanic.
- PLC experience is a plus
- Able to work rotation 12-hour shift including weekends and some overtime and occasionally.
- Ability to follow manufacturing specifications and schematics.
- Knowledge of food grade aluminum and stainless-steel welding techniques.
- Complete knowledge of fabrication techniques.
- Electrical knowledge and packing machinery experience a plus.
- Possess a full complement of the necessary hand and power tools to support an industrial manufacturing plant.
- Ability to multitask, prioritize items and be self-motivated.
- Complete knowledge of all tools required for industrial maintenance, including those used to broach, mill, and lathe.
- Must be able to communicate and understand safety issues, including reading the information on safety equipment and relaying relevant information to coworkers.
- Have a basic knowledge of control power and main power.
- Be able to identify and understand all different lubricants and their use for a chain lube to a high-performance synthetic lube.
- Knowledge of welding techniques (MIG, TIG, Acetylene).
- Understand pneumatic and water systems.
- Must be able to use soldering techniques
- Must be able to read electrical schematics.
- Must be able to identify appropriate motor frame, power load, and amp draw.
- Must have their own set of professional electrical tools, including voltmeter and amp meter.
