Production Line lead

Job Description:
SUMMARY
Coordinates the activities of assigned team members on matters related to: production, such as the quality and safety of food products being packaged; the safety of team members; the ongoing housekeeping of assigned areas; adherence to the production schedule, such as rest and lunch breaks; optimizing line efficiencies under the guidance from Line or Area Supervisor; and timely and effective communications with production leaders to support overall production effectiveness.
Shift: 2nd 1:30pm-10:00pm Monday-Friday with OT as needed. Shift Differential of $1.50hr is applied to eligible shifts.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Maintains the entire work area in a neat, safe and orderly fashion using Lean Manufacturing techniques.
Complies with all Company and Plant policies and procedures including conformance to the facilities’ GMP program (Good Manufacturing Practices).
Ensures all OSHA guidelines are followed and reports any unsafe conditions to leadership immediately. Validates the use of the Plants’ lockout tagout procedures, job rotation program, etc. as needed. Promotes a positive and a safe work environment.
Adherence to schedule by following outlined schedule week to week. The ability to react to schedule changes depending on flavor/pack type change overs. Monitors case attainment to react appropriately when falling behind or ahead of schedule.
Responsible for packaging standards being met including film, carton, case, and code date, packaging integrity, and quality checks on each packaging order.
Equipment set-up to centerline settings. i.e., wrappers, carton closers, carton formers, jet printers, etc.
Handle start up, change over, and shut down duties pertaining to packing equipment at the beginning, middle, and end of each shift.
Responsible to communicate, train, coach, and motivate team members during employment with Natures Bakery.
Fill in as necessary due to callouts, vacation, PTO, and all other absences.
Responsible to pass down training information, processes, procedures, company values, among other notifications to new hires and ensure existing personnel is up to date on those same items.
Loads, removes, and/or off bears materials and products into machines and equipment, using hand tools and moving devices.
Communicating with supervisors, peers, and team members by telephone, written form, e-mail, and/or in person.
Establish and maintain interpersonal relationships by developing constructive and cooperative working relationship with others.
Identify information by categorizing, estimating, recognizing, differences or similarities, and detecting changes in circumstances or events.
Assist in developing SOP’s.
Create daily reports regarding staffing, production numbers, scrapped material, and encountered issues throughout the shift.
Develops, maintains, and communicate visual key performance indicators (KPI’s) to provide ongoing feedback regarding productivity, quality, safety and sanitation and housekeeping. Conducts daily post op meetings for employees covering prior days’ performance and current days’ requirements.
Other responsibilities as communicated by the supervisor.
