About the Role:

The Senior Financial Services Officer plays a critical leadership role within the branch, overseeing daily teller operations to ensure accuracy, efficiency, and exceptional member service. This position is responsible for managing and mentoring the teller team, fostering a collaborative environment that promotes professional growth and adherence to compliance standards. The Senior Financial Services Officer acts as a liaison between branch management and tellers, facilitating communication and operational improvements. They are accountable for balancing cash drawers, resolving complex transaction issues, and implementing security protocols to safeguard assets. 

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • 1-3 years of experience in a teller or cash handling role within the financial services industry.
  • Demonstrated leadership or supervisory experience in a retail banking or credit union environment.
  • Strong knowledge of financial products, services, and regulatory compliance requirements.
  • Proficiency with teller systems and basic office software such as Microsoft Office.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with cash management systems and branch operations software.
  • Exceptional member service and conflict resolution skills.
  • Ability to analyze operational data to identify trends and recommend improvements.

Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and support the teller team to maintain high levels of accuracy and member service.
  • Train new tellers and provide ongoing coaching to enhance team performance and compliance.
  • Monitor daily cash handling activities, including balancing cash drawers and preparing cash orders.
  • Resolve escalated member inquiries and transaction discrepancies promptly and professionally.
  • Ensure adherence to all regulatory requirements, internal policies, and security procedures.
  • Collaborate with branch management to implement process improvements and operational initiatives.
  • Prepare and maintain detailed reports related to teller activities and cash management.
  • Assist in scheduling teller shifts to ensure adequate coverage during business hours.
  • Oversee the branch staff in absence of the Branch Manager.
  • Proactively offer beneficial products and services to the membership, meeting personal and branch goals. 
  • Responsible for tracking and monitoring goal achievements of staff members as directed by the branch manager.
