Ever been told you that you're a good listener, or that your calm presence helps others feel at ease?

We're looking for compassionate, everyday people to join our Companion Team

 

Availability: 3 hours per week

Time: Flexible to suit your schedule

Locations: Newcastle, Gateshead, Sunderland, North Tyneside, South Tyneside

Criteria: Minimum 18 years of age. A Criminal Record Check is required for this opportunity - Marie Curie will cover the cost of this

 

What you’ll do:

  • Visit a person weekly in their home and spend time with them and their family members
  • Have a chat, a cuppa, or share some quiet time
  • Listen to memories, share stories, or talk about everyday things
  • Support carers or family members by giving them a short break

  • Patient and non-judgmental of others
  • Emotionally steady during sensitive moments
  • Commit to 3 hours p/week
  • Comfortable using email and filling in a short visit report
  • Respectful of personal boundaries and confidentiality
