We are currently seeking a Seasonal Color Program Assistant with strong leadership to help develop our Seasonal Color Program. Services within this program currently include planters, flower beds, bulb plantings, fall/pumpkin displays, and holiday decor. 

Applicants should be passionate about plants, design, and the outdoors. Seasonal color installations occur in a fast-paced, condensed timeframe which requires proactive planning, foresight, attention to detail, and efficiency. The workday involves navigating client properties, acquiring and organizing supplies from vendors, and planning for future installations. Applicants should be comfortable with driving a large truck/van, working on a ladder up to 12 feet, lifting up to 50 lbs, and working in all weather conditions.

Responsibilities 

  • Assist with preparation of the yard for seasonal color deliveries 

  • Monitor and assist with care of plant materials for installations 

  • Track hard good inventory, tools, and supplies - ensure timely ordering   

  • Receive deliveries on properties and at the shop, remediating missing/incorrect materials 

  • Direct pre-loading of materials for each installation 

  • Layout plant materials onsite for crews according to the installation design plan 

  • Perform installations alongside crews ensuring quality, accuracy, safety, and efficiency 

  • Monitor and address irrigation needs for seasonal color installations 

  • Execute plant replacements and installation adjustments 

  • Perform maintenance on Seasonal Color installations/guide crews on proper maintenance 

  • Provide accurate information for records including job materials, hours, photographs, measurements, and modifications to design plans 

  • Assist with calculating plant quantities for flower beds and bulb plantings 

  • Pre-assemble holiday decor in preparation for installations 

  • Collaborate with the Seasonal Color Manager on program development needs (ex: inventory space, equipment, expansion of services, vendors) 

  • Assist as a member of the garden care team during non-install time periods 

 

Qualifications 

  • Driver’s license, with a clean driving record 

  • Minimum of 3 years in a hands-on horticultural industry role related to landscape installations and care of herbaceous plants 

  • Aesthetic sense/eye for design 

  • Prior experience in a fast-paced work environment 

  • Strong organizational systems 

  • Sense of urgency 

  • Attention to detail 

  • Solution-oriented 

  • Self-starter 

  • Ability to accurately & calmly handle multiple tasks at one time with frequent interruptions 

  • Resourceful in identifying tools, technology, and procedures that can improve results 

  • Verbal and written fluency in the English language 

  • Be available to work extended hours during peak seasons 

  • Follow company policies, procedures, and work standards 

  • Able to work effectively with individuals of differing knowledge and backgrounds 

  • Able to work outside in all weather conditions, lift 50lbs on a regular basis, perform repeated bending and lifting activities throughout the workday, and comfortable with occasional ladder work  

  • Preferred: 

  • Certificate or College Degree in horticulture/landscape program 

  • Spanish language - verbal fluency 

  • Irrigation program knowledge
