Role Overview
An Irrigation Service Technician maintains, troubleshoots, and repairs watering systems for residential, commercial client properties. Performing seasonal maintenance, repairing damaged pipes or electrical valves, adjust sprinkler heads, and program controllers to ensure optimal water distribution and plant health.
Key Responsibilities
- System Maintenance: Perform spring start-ups, mid-season audits, trouble shooting, diagnosing and winterization blow-outs to prevent freeze damage.
- Troubleshooting & Repair: Diagnose hydraulic and electrical issues, locate buried lines, and repair or replace broken sprinkler heads, valves, and pipes
- Water Management: Program and adjust computerized irrigation controllers to maximize water efficiency and prevent overwatering or runoff. [
- Customer Service: Communicate repair needs, recommend system upgrades to clients, and complete necessary service request paperwork.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Certification: Often requires or highly prefers a Backflow Certification and state-specific licensing.
- Experience: Typically 2 to 3+ years of hands-on experience in irrigation troubleshooting, assembly, and plumbing.
- Physical & Environmental Demands: Must be able to work outdoors in various weather conditions and lift up to 50 lbs.
- Technical Skills: Strong understanding of hydraulics, electrical wiring, and controller troubleshooting.
- Valid Driver’s License: Required to operate company vehicles between job sites.

Position Range:
