About this role
Margaret Howell is a contemporary British clothing designer who has worked successfully in men’s and women’s clothing for over five decades. Today, Margaret Howell clothes are sold worldwide with 12 own shops in Europe, over 70 outlets in Japan and an established online business.
We are now seeking creative, organised and detail-oriented Graphic Designers to join our Marketing and Brand team. As key members of the Marketing team, you will bring existing skills and technical know-how to help the business meet its financial objectives with compelling creative messaging.
Working closely with the Marketing Team and Head of Brand, you will support the creation and delivery of high-quality visual communications across print, digital, retail and e-commerce channels, helping to maintain and evolve the distinctive Margaret Howell brand identity.
LOCATION
Head office, W1/Remote
HOURS
Full-time - 35 hours, Monday - Friday
KEY RESPONSIBILITES
- Design and produce digital and physical assets for POS, store communications, advertising, event invitations and promotional collateral
- Design and maintain corporate branded templates including packaging, labelling, stationery, business cards and template documents
- Design and produce assets for collaborations and partnerships
- Design and produce content for website and social platforms including web pages and email marketing designs, working closely with internal departments and external agencies to ensure timely delivery
- Assist with preparing presentations for internal and external stakeholders
- Manage all seasonal image assets including campaigns, content shoots, online look imagery
- Manage all existing artwork files and assets
- Ensure brand guidelines are adhered to and evolved
- Creative thinking with a clear understanding of the Margaret Howell brand to bring new ideas and alternative opinions
ROLE REQUIREMENT
ESSENTIAL SKILLS
- Experience in graphic design
- Full working knowledge of key design applications: Figma, Adobe Creative Suite including Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Premiere Pro and After Effects essential
- Strong understanding of layout and typography for both print and digital
- Good understanding of Shopify web platform
- Meticulous attention to detail across design, communication and management of assets
- Good team player with a strong desire to collaborate cross-departmentally
- Organised, self-starter with proven ability to manage and deliver multiple projects in a timely manner
DESIREABLE
- Interest in the wider design
- Knowledge of Premiere Pro and After Effects would be advantageous.
- Ongoing knowledge of developments in CX and online marketing

Established in 1970 and incorporated in 1987 Margaret Howell Limited is an internationally recognised design company with more than 100 shops and concessions including London, Paris, Florence and throughout Japan. Under the design direction of Margaret Howell the company produces men's and women's clothing and an extensive household goods collection produced by specialist manufacturers in the UK and Italy. It's MHL. label was established in 2003 and is workwear inspired and European produced. Since 1999 the company has produced shirts and nightwear in its own North London factory.
The headquarters, based at 34 Wigmore Street, London, accommodate both the design studio and flagship shop selling the mens and womens collections alongside homeware products that complement the design ethos, including Poole Pottery, Ercol and Anglepoise together with designers such as Robert Welch and David Mellor.
