Working in data at Mantel means there are opportunities to align to a particular cloud platform or remain cloud agnostic. Our teams are made up of awesome people who specialise in numerous areas of data so there are endless opportunities for you including data engineering, machine learning, data analytics and data science.

About the role

As a Senior Analytics Engineer, you will be responsible for providing technical expertise to deliver on complex projects - which will include both hands-on delivery excellence to produce valuable outputs, as well as flexing your consulting skills to provide advice and oversight to both the team & client.

Here’s a snapshot of  what’s in store:

• Deliver Mantel’s core analytics offerings and provide technical guidance on client projects 

• Create and maintain scalable data pipelines, models, dashboards and reports to make data accessible to clients in a useful, timely, robust and intuitive way

• Work across a range of modern data tools following best DataOps practices on different cloud or hybrid data stacks

• Provide clients with guidance and recommendations on the right data tools depending on  the challenges and opportunities they face 

• At times, successfully lead small teams, operate as the most senior technical person on a project and/or work collaboratively in larger teams of people with varying levels of experience.

• Work with project leadership to define scope, align on expectations, manage dependencies, escalate and mitigate risks, and seek timely support.

• Help identify potential opportunities within projects and client relationships.

• Participating in events to raise awareness of Mantel’s Data capability and building relationships in the community.

• Helping to train, coach and mentor others within the team through on-the-job teaching, tutorials, hands-on training, presentations and other similar activities.

• Use professional judgement while treating colleagues and clients with respect and compassion, and a demonstrated ability to display our Mantel principles

We’d like to hear from you if you have:

• Previous experience in a hands-on data analytics role, BI or related role in a consulting organisation

• Demonstrated hands-on data experience across BI, data warehousing, data modelling, modern cloud platforms

• Experience in creating efficient, scalable & quality data models, with an appreciation of different data modelling approaches such as Kimball's dimensional modelling, Data Vault etc.

• Programming and data manipulation skills using SQL, Python and experience with modern data tech stack such as dbt, Snowflake, Databricks, Redshift, Azure Data Factory, Power BI, Qlik, Looker

• Previous application of DataOps tools and best practices in your data workflows

• Ability to guide projects forward independently and also provide support to more junior team members
