Responsibilities & Key Deliverables

  • Own and manage the engineering delivery of digital products, customer-facing applications, and enterprise technology platforms.
  • Lead, mentor, and grow a team of software engineers, technical leads, and architects, fostering a culture of engineering excellence, innovation, and accountability.
  • Drive Agile delivery practices across engineering teams and ensure effective sprint planning, execution, release management, and continuous improvement.
  • Build and develop high-performing engineering teams through coaching, mentoring, and structured career development initiatives.
  • Manage vendor and partner relationships, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and technology standards.
  • Establish engineering performance dashboards and track key delivery metrics, quality metrics, productivity indicators, system reliability, and customer experience measures to drive data-driven decision making.
  • Manage complexity with a logical, analytical, and outcome-oriented approach.
  • Build succession plans and strengthen technology capabilities within the engineering organization.

    Communication & Collaboration

    • Communicate complex technical concepts clearly and effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
    • Partner with product, business, architecture, infrastructure, cloud, and security teams to deliver business-aligned technology solutions.
    • Facilitate cross-functional collaboration to ensure seamless integration of digital products and technologies.
    • Provide leadership updates on engineering initiatives, delivery health, technology risks, team performance, and business outcomes.
    • Drive alignment between technology strategy and business objectives.

     

    Budget Management & Cost Control

    • Develop and manage engineering budgets, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives.
    • Monitor and optimize technology, cloud infrastructure, and platform costs while maintaining service quality and operational excellence.
    • Identify opportunities for productivity improvements and efficient resource utilization.
    • Ensure engineering initiatives are delivered within approved budgets and timelines.
    • Support technology investment planning and cost optimization initiatives.

Experience

12-15 years

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Technology, Computer Science, or a related discipline.
  • Relevant certifications in AWS, Cloud Architecture, Application Security, Agile Delivery, or Enterprise Architecture will be an added advantage.
  • 10-15 years of experience in software engineering, application development, and technology leadership roles.
  • Proven experience leading and managing teams of software engineers, technical leads, architects, and engineering managers.
  • Strong hands-on experience in web and mobile application development across the full software development lifecycle.
  • Proven experience delivering enterprise-grade digital platforms, customer-facing applications, and API-driven solutions

General Requirements

  • Provide technical leadership across web, mobile, API, and cloud-native application ecosystems.
  • Lead architecture reviews, design discussions, code quality initiatives, and engineering best practices.
  • Stay updated with emerging technologies, frameworks, and industry trends to drive innovation and continuous improvement.
  • Possess strong hands-on experience in enterprise-scale application development using technologies such as Java, Spring Boot, React, Angular, Node.js, Python, Flutter, React Native, Android, iOS, and modern API frameworks.
  • Possess strong expertise in AWS cloud services and cloud-native architecture, including scalability, resilience, security, observability, and cost optimization.
  • Drive adoption of cloud engineering best practices leveraging AWS services for compute, storage, networking, containers, serverless computing, monitoring, and security.
  • Drive adoption of modern engineering practices including CI/CD, DevSecOps, microservices, containerization, and cloud technologies.
  • Ensure applications are designed and developed with security, scalability, maintainability, reliability, and performance as key principles.
  • Define engineering standards, coding guidelines, architecture principles, and governance frameworks across delivery teams.
  • Define and monitor key engineering and operational metrics including application availability, performance, release frequency, deployment success rate, defect leakage, incident trends, and service reliability.
  • Ensure effective implementation of monitoring, logging, alerting, and observability practices across all applications and platforms.
