About this role

Responsibilities & Key Deliverables

a) Gasoline engine Optimization involving activities like, steady state performance and emission developement, including but not limited to combustion system, injection system, exhaust after-treatment system.
b) Gasoline vehicle calibration involving, vehicle emission developement, vehicle calibration, drivability, environmental corrections, cold start and OBD
c)  Emission & Performance Robustness and homologation trials for engines type approval.      
d) Develop competency  on methologies and tools calibration development
e) Laise with EMS supplier and other key system suppliers for system selection and optimization.
f) Laise with CFT like Vehicle Integration, NVH, Electricals, Performance simulation, Engine development centre, Reliability and Service for engineering targets delivery.
g) Plan for the day-today calibration activities and maintain a project tracker.
h) Collect & collate benchmark data.
i) Analyse the issues arising out of test to confirm the design by root cause analysis of the problems / issues by using various problem solving techniques like Global 8D or other problem solving tools.

General Requirements

1. Should have worked in atleast one MPFI engine development program from start of calibration to SOP
2. Basic understanding of engine architecture & combustion system and emission control. Effects of combustion hardware on performance and emission.
3. Knowledge of calibration softwares -INCA and other data acquisition tools.
4. Basic coding skills in Matlab and /or Phython
5. Knowledge of vehicle sub systems which affect vehicle performance parameters
6. Knowledge of steady state engine development on engine bench
7. Knowledge of EMS system component selection and evaluation methods
8. Knowledge of vehicle calibration, comfort functions, drivability, IOBD etc
9. Understanding of Intake, exhaust, cooling and fuel system interfaces on engine performance and emissions.
10. Failure analysis, root cause analysis
11. Awareness of emission cycles, test procedures, various norms and regulation
