About this role
Job
Description:
A
Quebec-based insurer is seeking a test automation specialist to enhance the
quality of its savings ecosystem in a high-volume transaction environment that
combines modern and legacy systems.
- The core of
the role is to automate critical validations and thoroughly diagnose problems.
A significant portion of the work involves integrations, APIs, and backend
processing, with genuine investigative work across application layers. The successful
candidate will join a multidisciplinary team already in deployment and
contribute to preventing defects rather than performing end-of-line testing.
- The client
is seeking a QA specialist with a strong technical background in automation,
integrated into a Fusion Team, whose value lies equally in investigation and
automation.
- The
environment is high-volume transactional and combines modern and legacy
systems, with validations focused on integrations, APIs, and backend processing.
The priority is creating value through automation and defect prevention, not
manually executing tests. The ideal candidate will understand data flows,
diagnose issues across application layers using logs, database data, and
monitoring, and then automate relevant validations. This profile is closer to
that of a Software Development Engineer (SDET) than a traditional functional
tester.
- To be
confirmed with the Community Manager: two answers are pending from the client: the
scope of automation (API and backend only, or also UI and end-to-end) and the
existing automation stack (language and framework). These two points will
determine the table and grid, which will be updated upon receipt.
