Business Architect

Clients are seeking a Senior Business Architect to work upstream of project implementation, focusing on prioritized initiatives. The role involves capturing and defining business needs, conducting preliminary analyses (expected benefits, value, impacts, scope), and formulating recommendations to inform decision-making regarding the initiative roadmap. The recurring keywords (prioritized initiatives, business needs, benefits, value, impacts, transformation program) indicate a strategic scoping role, not a technical design or operational business analysis role.

This position is part of the Enterprise Architecture Department, reporting to the VP of Business and IT Performance, and produces standardized deliverables in Enterprise Architect. The ideal candidate has a comprehensive understanding of the organizational context and can translate business objectives into structured requirements.

• 10 years of relevant experience
  
• 5 years of business architecture experience in a transformation program environment
  
• Bachelor's degree in an appropriate discipline
  
• Business needs definition and high-level analysis (benefits, value, impacts, scope)
  

DESIRED

• Production of business architecture deliverables in Enterprise Architect or an equivalent modeling tool
  
• Understanding of the organizational context and business strategies
  

ASSET

• Knowledge of the insurance industry

WHAT WE DON'T WANT

• Architecture experience limited to solution design or IT technical architecture, without any upstream business architecture component.
  
• No experience in enterprise transformation programs.
  
• Operational business analysis role without producing architecture deliverables (capacity mapping, modeling, initiative scoping).
  
• Less than 10 years of relevant experience, or less than 5 years in business architecture.
  
• No experience in upstream initiative scoping (requirements gathering, benefits, value, and impact analysis).
