Drive Cleaning Process Excellence in Biomanufacturing. Join Lonza BioAtrium as the technical owner of manufacturing cleaning processes. In this highly visible role, you will drive cleaning process performance, CIP/COP optimization, equipment cleaning strategies, and cleaning innovation across a world-class biologics manufacturing facility. Working closely with Manufacturing, QA, QC, Engineering, Automation, Validation, and customers, you will ensure cleaning processes remain efficient, compliant, robust, and inspection-ready.

This is a fully site‑based role. Working together in person supports close, real‑time collaboration and the technical precision needed to manufacture medicines to the highest quality and safety standards.

What you will do:

  • Own and continuously improve manufacturing cleaning processes and equipment cleaning strategies.
  • Develop compliant cleaning concepts in collaboration with QA and cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Drive standardization and optimization of cleaning processes across manufacturing assets.
  • Lead CIP/COP improvement initiatives to enhance process robustness and operational efficiency.
  • Coordinate cleaning method development with Manufacturing, QC, R&D, and QA.
  • Lead cleaning-related risk assessments and support implementation of resulting actions.
  • Support process transfers, manufacturing campaigns, investigations, deviations, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Act as the technical expert for equipment cleaning during customer interactions, audits, and inspections.
  • Identify and implement innovative cleaning technologies and industry best practices.
  • Ensure activities comply with GMP requirements and approved procedures.

What we are looking for:

  • BSc/MSc or PhD in Biotechnology, Chemical Engineering, Pharmaceutical Sciences, or a related discipline.
  • Strong experience (at least 5-10 years) in biopharmaceutical manufacturing and GMP operations.
  • Expertise in equipment cleaning processes (at least 3 years), CIP (Clean-In-Place)/COP (Clean-Out-of-Place) systems, process improvement, and manufacturing support.
  • Proven ability to lead cross-functional technical initiatives and solve complex manufacturing challenges.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • English fluent, German is nice to have
