- Evaluate the tax impact and risks of significant business decisions (new products/markets, key contracts, financing/equity arrangements, etc.), and provide management with actionable recommendations and trade-off analysis.
- Lead international tax initiatives and execution: transfer pricing (TP) policies and pricing governance, intercompany agreements, and relevant documentation (e.g., Local File/Master File where applicable).
- Manage cross-border tax matters including WHT planning, treaty analyses, and tax treatment of cross-border service/technical fees; identify and mitigate Permanent Establishment (PE) risks.
- Drive entity and transaction structure optimization within business and regulatory boundaries (entity footprint, cross-border cash/fee flows, IP/service arrangements, etc.); assess tax implications of reorganizations and deliver executable plans.
- Identify and evaluate applicable tax incentives/relief programs across jurisdictions (exemptions, deductions, grants, R&D-related incentives, etc.); define application pathways, required materials, timelines, and ensure ongoing compliance after approval.
- Lead tax audits, inquiries, and dispute resolution across jurisdictions; establish consistent audit response playbooks, documentation standards, and external communication positions.
- Proactively identify potential tax exposures and impacts from regulatory/policy changes; drive mitigation actions and provide regular updates to senior management.
- Partner with Finance, Legal, and business leaders to support new product launches, market expansion, entity setup/changes, key contracts, and equity/M&A transactions with tax assessments and recommendations.
- Report key tax matters, risks, and opportunities to senior management; ensure tax perspectives are incorporated into strategic decision-making with clear follow-through.
- Expand and lead the global tax team, define roles and operating cadence, and elevate team capability and delivery standards.
