The Team
The Compliance Team serves as the second line of defence, partnering with Trading, Operations, Risk and Technology to oversee market conduct and trading risks. We are looking for an experienced Compliance Manager – Trade Surveillance to monitor trading activity, investigate potential market abuse and strengthen our surveillance framework.

Key Responsibilities
Trade Surveillance & Investigation

• Monitor trade and order activity and review surveillance alerts for potential market abuse.
• Investigate suspicious trading patterns, including insider dealing, manipulation, spoofing/layering, wash trades and coordinated trading.
• Analyse order, execution and account data and document investigation findings.
• Escalate material cases and recommend appropriate remediation or enhanced monitoring.

Surveillance Framework & Technology

• Enhance surveillance scenarios, thresholds and alert logic, including periodic tuning and effectiveness reviews.
• Partner with Technology, Data and Trading teams on surveillance systems, data quality and new surveillance capabilities.

Regulatory Compliance & Advisory

• Monitor regulatory developments relating to market conduct and trading activities.
• Advise relevant teams on market conduct and surveillance requirements.
• Support compliance reporting, audits, regulatory inspections and enquiries.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Law, Finance, Business, Accounting, Economics or a related discipline.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant trade surveillance, market surveillance, market conduct or trading compliance experience, preferably within a brokerage, securities firm, investment bank, exchange or trading platform.
• Strong understanding of Singapore regulatory requirements relating to securities trading and market conduct, including the Securities and Futures Act (SFA), MAS Notices and Guidelines, and relevant exchange rules.
• Strong knowledge of market abuse and market manipulation typologies.
• Hands-on experience with trade/order surveillance, alert review, investigation and case management.
• Experience developing, reviewing or tuning surveillance scenarios and detection rules is preferred.
• Strong understanding of order lifecycle, trade execution and securities market structure.
• Experience working with trading/order data and surveillance systems.
• Strong analytical and investigative skills with excellent attention to detail.
• Ability to exercise independent judgement when assessing potential market abuse and determining appropriate escalation.
• Mandarin is an advantage for reviewing trading activity and communicating with regional stakeholders.
• Experience with an online brokerage, retail trading platform or technology-driven securities business is highly preferred.
