We are at an exciting point in this journey following a recent reorganisation to bolster Environmental Health service delivery. There is a new structure in place, focused on a risk-based and proportionate approach to the delivery of Environmental Health services and our statutory functions. Public Health & Noise Nuisance Officer
Are you interested in contributing to the reduction of noise, nuisance and public health issues for the residents and workers of Barnet?
We are seeking a dedicated officer to join Public Health & Noise Nuisance Team. The successful candidate will be responsible for investigating nuisance issues including noise, smoke, odour, and light; and public health issues relating to drainage, refuse and pests. The successful candidate will contribute to a front line ‘witnessing’ service, carrying out visits and gathering evidence of reported breaches. You will be required to work some weekend nightshifts as part of a shift rotation.
Key responsibilities include:
- Working independently with minimal supervision.
- Demonstrating excellent communication skills and confidence in handling potentially confrontational situations with the public.
- Attending court as a witness when necessary.
Essential qualifications and skills:
A good standard of knowledge of legislation pertaining to statutory nuisance and demonstrable experience.
