Technical Sourcer

San Francisco · Hybrid$130k – $160k + Equity

About this role

About the Role

LlamaIndex is looking for a Technical Sourcer to help identify and engage exceptional talent across AI, engineering, research, and product.

You will partner closely with recruiters and hiring leaders to understand talent needs, map competitive markets, and build high-quality pipelines. We are looking for someone who is genuinely passionate about sourcing: curious about people, persistent in uncovering great candidates, and thoughtful about creating an excellent candidate experience.

What You’ll Do

Develop sourcing strategies for technical roles across AI, machine learning, research, software engineering, and related functions

Identify and engage high-caliber passive candidates through LinkedIn Recruiter, Gem, GitHub, research communities, professional networks, and other sourcing channels

Build targeted market maps and talent pipelines for current and anticipated hiring needs

Write thoughtful, personalized outreach that communicates LlamaIndex’s mission and opportunities

Partner with recruiters and hiring managers to define target profiles and refine searches based on market feedback

Assess candidates’ backgrounds, technical relevance, motivations, and potential fit

Track pipeline activity, response rates, conversions, and other sourcing metrics in Gem and the recruiting system

Maintain accurate candidate records and provide clear market insights to the broader recruiting team

Experiment with new tools, search methods, communities, and sourcing channels

Represent LlamaIndex professionally and create a positive candidate experience from the first interaction

What We’re Looking For

Approximately 3+ years of technical sourcing experience, ideally within an AI company, high-growth technology startup, or similarly technical environment

Experience sourcing software engineers, machine learning engineers, research engineers, applied scientists, or related technical talent

Strong working knowledge of LinkedIn Recruiter, Gem, and other recruiting and sourcing tools

Ability to understand technical profiles and translate hiring requirements into focused sourcing strategies

Excellent written communication and candidate outreach skills

Strong research instincts, attention to detail, organization, and follow-through

Genuine enthusiasm for sourcing and connecting outstanding people with meaningful opportunities

Comfortable working in a fast-moving environment where priorities may evolve

Collaborative, resourceful, and motivated by delivering high-quality talent rather than simply generating volume

Nice to Have

Familiarity with the generative AI, LLM, agent, developer-tools, or AI infrastructure ecosystem

Experience sourcing candidates from research communities, open-source projects, GitHub, conferences, or academic publications

Experience supporting an early-stage or rapidly scaling startup

Familiarity with talent intelligence, market mapping, and sourcing analytics

Experience developing creative sourcing campaigns or experimenting with AI-assisted recruiting tools
