Staff Full Stack Engineer - Tech Lead

Listen Labs is seeking a Staff Full Stack Engineer - Tech Lead with 9-12 years of experience to be a key technical decision-maker on our lean, high-performing team. You’ll drive engineering excellence for platform-scale initiatives that help companies make faster, clearer, and more accountable decisions. This role combines end-to-end ownership, architecture, and people leadership to deliver real-world impact.
What youll do
- Be a key technical decision-maker, driving engineering excellence and innovation across the product.
- Lead the design and implementation of large, high-impact platform projects and features.
- Own complex systems end-to-end across infrastructure, backend, and product UX.
- Define the technical vision and roadmap for major initiatives aligned with company goals.
- Lead and mentor engineers, setting a high bar for quality, clarity, and execution.
- Champion engineering rigor—fast, but never sloppy (slop compounds).
What Listen Labs is looking for
- 9+ years of full-stack development experience (9-12 years preferred), with either front-end leaning for product focus or back-end leaning for platform focus.
- Experience with backend development using Python and Go.
- Proficiency in TypeScript and frontend development using React or JavaScript.
- Experience leading large technical projects and influencing architectural direction at a B2B, consumer-centric product company.
- Prior experience in roles such as co-founder, VP of Engineering, or Manager.
- Must be located in San Francisco, or willing to relocate to San Francisco.
