About the Role

The Senior Business Intelligence Developer will play a pivotal role in transforming complex data into actionable insights that shape strategy and accelerate business growth. This position will design and maintain scalable semantic data models, compelling reports, and intuitive dashboards that empower leaders to make confident, data-driven decisions. Working closely with cross-functional teams, this individual will uncover meaningful trends, translate business needs into impactful analytics solutions, and help strengthen a culture of insight-driven decision-making across the organization.


Your Key Contributions

  • Design, develop, and maintain certified semantic models, analytical reports, and dashboards within Microsoft Fabric and Power BI to deliver trusted KPIs, actionable insights, and scalable reporting solutions that support business decision-making.
  • Develop and support reporting solutions using Medallion (Bronze/Silver/Gold) architecture within Microsoft Fabric, ensuring semantic models and downstream reporting solutions consume governed Gold-layer data sources.
  • Design and maintain scalable data marts, dimensional models, and semantic models that support consistent business definitions, reusable measures, governed reporting, and enterprise analytics requirements.
  • Optimize Power BI and Microsoft Fabric reporting solutions for performance and scalability, including DAX measure tuning, report design, partition strategies, OneLake integration, Direct Lake performance considerations, refresh/framing behavior, and other applicable optimization practices.
  • Apply data governance, quality, security, and compliance standards across reporting and analytics solutions, actively participating in governance processes including glossary term stewardship, workspace certification and endorsement, and lineage documentation within Microsoft Purview.
  • Utilize Git-integrated development and Azure DevOps workflows to support the BI development lifecycle, including intake, scoping, estimation, version control, CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and delivery of reporting and analytics solutions.
  • Partner with analysts, developers, and business stakeholders to translate data and reporting requirements into scalable technical solutions, while providing technical guidance, knowledge sharing, and mentorship to junior engineers.
  • Maintain clear technical and operational documentation and monitor solution health and performance, including documentation of processes, semantic models, data definitions, measures, dependencies, and monitoring practices that support reliable and maintainable reporting solutions.


What Makes You a Great Fit

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Business Analytics, Finance, Accounting, or related field.
  • 6-10 years of experience in a BI or Data Analyst role with a focus on cloud-based solutions, star schema data models, and building reports from the ground up.
  • Hands-on experience with Microsoft Fabric, including Lakehouse and/or Warehouse, OneLake, workspace management, or comparable modern cloud analytics platforms.
  • Experience working with ERP and/or CRM systems, with Salesforce experience preferred.
  • Experience mentoring junior team members, providing technical guidance, or leading small technical initiatives preferred.
  • Applies advanced BI expertise, data governance standards, and analytical judgment to make sound technical decisions that support scalable, reliable, and trusted reporting solutions.
  • Delivers high-quality semantic models, reports, dashboards, and analytics solutions that provide actionable insights and support effective business decision-making.
  • Navigates complex data architectures, technologies, business requirements, and dependencies to design and maintain scalable solutions across Microsoft Fabric, Power BI, and related platforms.
  • Improves BI development and delivery through performance tuning, reusable data models, Git-integrated workflows, CI/CD automation, standardized documentation, and monitoring practices.
  • Partners with technical and business stakeholders to translate complex data requirements and concepts into clear, actionable solutions while providing technical guidance and knowledge sharing to others.
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Power BI, including demonstrated experience with DAX, data modeling, report development, performance optimization, and visualization best practices.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in SQL and experience querying, analyzing, and transforming data to support reporting and analytical requirements.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with an understanding of business processes, key performance indicators (KPIs), and the ability to translate business requirements into effective data and reporting solutions.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex data insights effectively and translate technical concepts for non-technical audiences.
  • Working knowledge of Git or other version control systems and familiarity with modern development, version control, and deployment practices.

  • Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM Eastern Time
