College of Pharmacy - Active Learning Community Leader (Student Worker)

About this role

We are seeking students of high academic achievement who can fulfill the role of an Active Learning Community (ALC) Peer Leader in the College of Pharmacy’s supplemental instruction model. ALC peer leaders are responsible for hosting weekly sessions that promote student content understanding, retention, toolkit development, and deepen the sense of community among attendees. May be federal work study eligible.

Job Description
○ Designs and facilitates interactive learning activities and exercises that integrate study strategies
with course content review
○ Prepares session/presentation materials in advance with questions/problems/activities to be
covered during the session
○ Initiates and attends all scheduled meetings with the course related faculty 
○ Communicates regularly with the Director of the Active Learning Community Program
○ Models outstanding professionalism 
○ Conducts ALC sessions as scheduled in the College of Pharmacy schedule

Qualifications
○ Enrolled student in the Lipscomb College of Pharmacy
○ Minimum GPA of 3.0
○ Received the minimum of a B in the course(s) you intend to support
○ Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
○ Excellent organizational and time management skills
○ A commitment to helping other students learn
