Academy Lunch Supervisor, Lower School
About this role
The Lunch Supervisor is responsible for providing a safe, orderly, and caring environment during the student lunch period. This individual actively supervises students, promotes positive behavior, and ensures that lunch procedures are followed while supporting students' needs.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Supervise students throughout the lunch period to ensure a safe and respectful environment.
- Monitor student behavior and reinforce school expectations with consistency and kindness.
- Assist students with their needs during lunch, including opening containers, locating supplies, and responding to minor concerns.
- Encourage good manners and appropriate social interactions during mealtime.
- Maintain cleanliness in the lunch area by encouraging students to clean up after themselves and monitoring tables and surrounding spaces.
- Promote student safety by remaining attentive and addressing concerns promptly.
- Ensure students remain seated when appropriate and follow cafeteria procedures.
- Organize students for dismissal from lunch, ensuring they line up quietly, safely, and in an orderly manner.
- Maintain punctuality by arriving on time and ensuring lunch routines stay on schedule.
- Communicate any student concerns, injuries, behavioral issues, or safety concerns to the appropriate school personnel.
- Model professionalism, patience, and positive interactions with students and staff.
