Job Title: Payroll Clerk (Centralized Payroll)
Job Summary
This role supports Payroll Analysts and Management in a centralized payroll environment, ensuring accurate retroactive pay adjustments and assisting with expense import files and quarterly bonus runs. Additionally, it contributes to process improvement initiatives and projects.
Responsibility
- Calculate retroactive pay adjustments, pension adjustments, vacation payments, and other payroll adjustments
- Preparation of Records of Employment
- Preparation & import of expense import files
- Assist with preparation of quarterly bonus runs and annual vacation pay runs
- Support process improvement initiatives & projects
- Open and distribute mail
- Monitor and order office supplies
- Other duties as assigned
Academic/Educational Requirements
- Successful completion of secondary school or equivalent and related experience
- CPA designation is an asset
Required Skills/Experience
- Must have 1 – 2 years of previous payroll experience
- Knowledge and understanding of payroll related legislation and employment standards
- ADP WFN payroll system experience is an asset
- Ability to work in a paperless computerized environment including advanced Excel and Word skills
- Committed to continuous improvement and learning
- Strong communication skills both verbal and written - ability to deal with individuals at different levels within the organization as well as government and law enforcement agencies
- Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple priorities
