General Laborer

 

Job Summary

The General Laborer is responsible for supporting daily yard, production, and facility operations. This position assists with the unloading, loading, sorting, and counting of tires while helping maintain a safe, efficient, and productive work environment. The General Laborer aids customers who visit the facility by helping offload tires and supports other crew members as needed to ensure smooth site operations. This role requires the ability to safely perform physical labor and maintain quality and safety standards at all times.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assist in the unloading, loading, sorting, and counting of tires.
  • Aid customers who visit the facility by helping them offload tires.
  • Support yard, production, and facility operations as assigned.
  • Contribute to the smooth operation of the yard crew by assisting team members with daily tasks.
  • Move, stack, organize, and transport tires and materials throughout the facility.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of work areas.
  • Follow all company safety policies, procedures, and PPE requirements.
  • Operate efficiently while maintaining quality and safety standards.
  • Maintain regular attendance and work cooperatively with supervisors and team members.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

 

Requirements and Qualifications

 

  • Ability to safely lift up to 100 pounds.
  • Ability to perform physical labor in an industrial and outdoor work environment.
  • Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Ability to maintain quality, productivity, and safety standards.
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, twist, push, and pull throughout the workday.
  • Ability to work in varying weather conditions.

 

Working Conditions

Work is performed in a tire recycling and industrial environment. Regular exposure to used tires, heavy materials, moving equipment, dust, noise, and varying weather conditions. Work may be performed indoors and outdoors. Required use of personal protective equipment (PPE), including safety glasses, gloves, hearing protection, and steel-toe footwear. Must comply with all company safety policies and procedures to maintain a safe working environment.
