As our Property Management Credit Controller, you’ll be at the heart of our financial operations, supporting the day‑to‑day management of our growing property portfolio. You’ll take ownership of tenant rent charges, rent arrears and aged debt processes, while also overseeing trade and fuel card accounts for our internal maintenance team.
Working closely with our property management team and key stakeholders, you’ll support accurate financial management and compliance, and contribute to regular arrears and aged debt reporting, as well as bespoke financial reports tailored to business needs. You’ll also provide hands‑on support to the Property Accounts Manager, making this a varied and collaborative role with real impact.
  • At least two years of general accounting experience, with a preference for experience in real estate property accounting.
  • Experience within credit control.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel).
  • Experience with property management software Yardi is a bonus.
  • Strong organisational, communication, and time management skills
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Carry out arrears process, reviewing arrears cases on daily basis, liaising with tenants on unpaid rent, sending formal arrears letters at prescribed times and escalating ongoing arrears cases to the property management team for further action.
  • Carry out aged debt process, both following internal processes to try and recover sums owed from former tenants and engaging with external debt recovery companies where necessary.
  • Review, track and approve utility payments for void units, checking void periods and meter readings against tenancy records.
  • Review, track and approve estate charges, checking costs and charges against budgets.
  • Credit control for external supplier accounts, reviewing monthly statements against invoices received, chasing for outstanding invoices, liaising with finance on supplier payments and ensuring all accounts remain in order.
  • Review external supplier invoices for accuracy against quoted works, query any costs that appear incorrect, ensure all expenses have correct authorisation and escalate where costs have been incurred without authorisation.
  • Raise and/or verify accuracy of purchase orders, ensuring all costs incurred are registered against the correct entity and categorised in line with company processes.
  • Support the Property Accounts Manager and wider business in completing day-to-day and ad-hoc tasks.
