Market Retail Manager
Job Summary
The Market Retail Manager provides strategic leadership by establishing, overseeing, and directing key retail performance indicators within assigned market, which include client experience, sales, hiring, delivery of products/services, security, compliance, and operational oversight. The oversight includes developing talent, coaching, and leading retail teams to retain, grow existing and build new relationships for the bank. The Market Retail Manager works closely with Line of Business Partners, Branch Managers, Market Presidents, Relationship Managers and Retail Operations Manager.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Manage multiple, assigned branches, directly and indirectly.
- Responds to client issues within assigned territory, including not limited to answering inquiries, complying with requests, and resolving internal and external complaints.
- Champion and cultivate a strong organizational culture and brand presence across the market, creating a high-performing and engaging work environment.
- Lead, coach, and hold accountable branch management to achieve operational excellence, sales goals, and exceptional client experience.
- Conduct regular branch visits to evaluate performance, provide coaching/feedback, and develop branch leadership and retail teams.
- Lead and coach on needs-based sales conversations and consumer lending to enhance team effectiveness and client experience.
- Manage branch staffing model to ensure staffing effectiveness and efficiency, while collaborating with managers to achieve optimal client experience.
- Coach Managers on hiring, coaching and disciplinary action as needed to ensure all expectations of the role are met.
- Lead Managers in career development, annual reviews, and training for team members
- Manages retail incentive plan for market, including strategy and reporting.
- Monitor client touchpoints to ensure exceptional client experience.
- Ensure full compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, policies, and procedures, including completion of required compliance training.
- Drive sales growth by managing and optimizing business development initiatives, lines of business partner referrals, incentive programs, and team engagement strategies.
- Lead and execute key retail initiatives, reinforce our culture and brand throughout the market.
- Conducts monthly branch visits for observation, coaching branch management, and retail team.
- Leads and coaches need based conversations training with consumer lending for market.
- Monitor branch performance metrics and implement action plans to improve productivity, customer satisfaction, and profitability
- Management and oversight of the holistic process for opening new branches.
- Lead key retail projects for the company.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Minimum Education
- BS/BA Degree in Business, Finance, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience or
- 6–8 years of relative experience in retail banking, sales leadership, or market management

- Proven leadership ability with a history of developing, motivating, and coaching high-performing teams.
- Ability to motivate, empower team members and associates by providing positive, celebratory environment.
- Strong business acumen with the ability to drive sales performance and execute growth strategies.
- Excellent time management, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to present effectively to diverse audiences either one on one, small groups, meeting with clients, associates, management, and public groups.
- Demonstrate ability to build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external clients in a positive manner.
- Ability to analyze performance metrics and translate insights into actionable strategies.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
- Adaptable communication style with the ability to influence and engage individuals at all levels.
