Job Description:

The BIOS Customer Project Engineer serves as a technical bridge between internal R&D teams and key customers, including OEMs, ODMs, and brand clients. In this role, you will combine deep firmware engineering expertise with strong customer-facing communication skills to drive platform bring-up activities, customize Aptio V BIOS features, and resolve critical technical challenges. Your contributions will play a key role in ensuring successful product development and on-time product launches for customers.

Responsibilities

• Platform Bring-up Support: Assist customers during the initial bring-up of new hardware platforms and ensure code stability from early engineering samples through mass production.

• Feature Implementation & Customization: Modify and enhance existing UEFI BIOS source code to implement customer-requested features, including customized ACPI tables, tailored setup options, and specific boot behaviors.

• Customer Issue Triage & Debugging: Reproduce, diagnose, and resolve technical issues, such as system hangs, blue screen errors (BSODs), and peripheral device failures, reported by customers during product validation and qualification phases.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science (CS), Computer Engineering (CE), Electrical Engineering (EE), or a related technical discipline.

• 2–3 years of hands-on experience in UEFI/BIOS firmware development, platform bring-up, or motherboard firmware debugging.

• Proficient in C programming. Basic knowledge of, or experience with, x86 or ARM assembly language is preferred.

• Practical experience with UEFI architecture and the Aptio V or EDK II development environment.

• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills, with a proactive approach to identifying and isolating issues across hardware, BIOS, and operating system layers.

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with customer engineers and internal R&D teams to discuss technical requirements, issue status, and resolution plans.
