Job Purpose
This position will be responsible for driving the growth of LANXESS ion exchange resin solutions in the Mining & Metallurgy and Battery Metals segments across China. The focus areas include critical mineral extraction, metal purification, metal recovery, and battery recycling applications.
The role requires a proactive and customer-focused approach to identifying new business opportunities, building strategic relationships with key industry players, and converting project opportunities into profitable business growth. Close collaboration with local and global technical teams will be essential to deliver value-added solutions and support customers throughout the project development cycle.
Job Highlights
Sales and Business Development
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities.
- Develop and implement sales strategies to achieve company sales targets and growth objectives.
- Conduct market research to understand industry trends and customer needs
Customer Relationship Management
- Build and maintain strong relationships with existing and potential customers.
- Provide product information and technical support to customers, ensuring a thorough understanding of ion exchange resins and their benefits.
- Address customer inquiries, concerns, and complaints promptly and effectively.
Product Knowledge
- Maintain an in-depth understanding of the company's ion exchange resin products and their applications.
- Stay updated on the latest industry developments, technologies, and competitor products.
Sales Reporting
- Prepare and present sales reports, forecasts, and market analysis to the LPT BU head.
- Monitor sales performance against targets and adjust strategies as necessary.
Collaboration
- Work closely with the marketing, technical and BD teams to develop and execute promotional activities.
- Coordinate with the customer service and supply chain teams to ensure timely delivery of products to customers.
- Collect account receivables from customers in time.
Experience / Skills
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or above in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Metallurgy, Materials Science, Environmental Engineering, or a related field
- Minimum 5 years of sales, business development, or technical sales experience in Mining & Metallurgy, Metal Processing, Battery Materials, Battery Recycling, Hydrometallurgy, Water Treatment, or related industries.
- Proven experience in developing and managing key customer relationships and driving business growth in industrial or process industries.
- Familiarity with metal extraction, separation, purification, recovery, or recycling processes is highly preferred.
- Experience in lithium, nickel, cobalt, copper, rare earth, battery materials, or battery recycling industries is strongly preferred.
- Experience with ion exchange resins, adsorbents, specialty chemicals, process chemicals, or related separation technologies is an advantage.
- Strong business development and technical sales skills, with the ability to identify opportunities and develop value-based solutions for customers.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills; Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong project management and cross-functional collaboration capabilities, with the ability to manage complex sales opportunities and work effectively with local and global teams.
- Proficiency in English is highly desirable.
