We are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Occupational Therapist to undertake the role of Senior Occupational Therapist – Practice Development within Prevention and Neighbourhoods.
This role provides a unique opportunity to support and develop Occupational Therapy practitioners across the service, helping to build confidence, professional competence and high-quality strengths-based practice. Working closely with Team Managers, you will provide mentoring, coaching, professional guidance and reflective support to less experienced Occupational Therapists, Occupational Therapy Support Officers and Occupational Therapy students, supporting them to develop the knowledge, skills and professional judgement required to practise confidently and effectively.
In this role, you will also provide support and guidance on practice situations involving higher levels of risk, uncertainty or complexity. You will share your knowledge and expertise to promote effective occupational therapy practice, support professional development and contribute to service improvement. You may also undertake or contribute to complex assessments and interventions where required.
Key Responsibilities
• Support the development of less experienced Occupational Therapy practitioners across the service.
• Provide mentoring, coaching and professional advice on Occupational Therapy practice.
• Promote high-quality strengths-based, person-centred practice and professional standards.
• Support practice development, quality assurance and continuous improvement activities.
• Provide support and guidance on practice situations involving higher levels of risk, uncertainty or complexity.
• Undertake or support complex assessments and interventions where required.
• Support the learning and development of Occupational Therapy students and support staff.
• Share best practice and contribute to the development of Occupational Therapy practice across Adult Social Care.
