About the role...

Are you a caring individual who is passionate about helping people live independent, fulfilling lives? We are looking for compassionate, motivated, and reliable Community Support Workers to join our Adult Disability Services team in the Fylde and Wyre area. If you're someone who thrives on variety and wants a change from 9-5, this could be the role for you! 

In this rewarding role, you will support adults with a variety of needs to achieve their personal goals, develop life skills, access community opportunities, and maintain their health and wellbeing in their own homes. You will empower individuals to make choices, build their confidence, and participate fully in their communities.

Key Responsibilities...

  • Provide practical and emotional support tailored to individual needs.
  • Support people with daily living activities, including personal care, medication, and mobility where required.
  • Promote independence, social inclusion, and community participation.
  • Help individuals access employment, education, volunteering, and leisure opportunities.
  • Maintain accurate records and contribute to support planning and reviews.
  • Work collaboratively with families, carers, colleagues, and partner agencies.

Empathy & Resilience – you will understand the challenges the people we support deal with, which means an empathic nature is of upmost importance. It is essential that you are able to communicate clearly and effectively with every individual providing reassurance and positivity.

Local Government Reorganisation

The Government has confirmed that local government across Lancashire will be reorganised, with the current 15 councils being replaced by four new unitary councils covering North, South, East and West Lancashire from April 2028.

If you are successful in your application, you will initially join Lancashire County Council. However, as part of the planned transition, your employment will transfer to one of the new unitary councils from April 2028, subject to the implementation of the reorganisation and relevant employment legislation.

Throughout this period, our focus remains on delivering excellent services to our communities. By joining us now, you'll play an important role in shaping the future of local government and helping to build a strong new organisation that will serve residents for years to come.
