Are you looking for a rewarding role that fits around your life? As an Assistant Cook working at St Bede's High School, you’ll enjoy a consistent schedule with no evening, weekend, or school holiday shifts – perfect for maintaining a healthy work-life balance.
This is a permanent, part-time position with a guaranteed 30 hours per week.
In this role, you will:
- Prepare, cook, and serve healthy, balanced meals to pupils in line with service standards
- Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently following training
- Set up and clear down dining areas, including moving and arranging furniture
- Maintain high standards of cleanliness and hygiene in all catering areas
- Support the Unit Manager with task allocation and team supervision
- Step in for the Unit Manager when required
- Communicate with pupils, staff, and colleagues in a friendly and professional manner
- Attend training sessions and team meetings as needed

- Have great customer service skills
- Have experience in catering or food preparation (this is a bonus, not a must!)

Qualifications & Experience:
- Basic numeracy, literacy, and communication skills
- Catering qualifications such as City & Guilds 706/1 and 706/2 or NVQ equivalent are desirable
- On-the-job training will be provided
