The group you’ll be a part of
Global Information Systems (GIS) is responsible for delivering and supporting the technology solutions that enable business operations across Lam Research. The organization provides enterprise technology services including infrastructure, end-user computing, networking, cybersecurity, cloud services, business applications, digital transformation, automation, and IT operations. GIS partners with business teams worldwide to drive operational excellence, improve productivity, and accelerate innovation through technology. GIS leadership includes dedicated teams focused on IT Operations, Business Applications, Digital Transformation, Enterprise Architecture, Information Security, and Business Operations.
The impact you’ll make
Joining the team, you will play a key role in helping deliver reliable and efficient technology services that support employees and business operations. You will gain hands-on experience working with enterprise IT systems while contributing to initiatives that improve user experience, operational efficiency, and service quality.
What you’ll do
- Provide technical support for desktops, laptops, printers, mobile devices, and workplace technologies.
- Assist with hardware deployment, imaging, software installation, configuration, and equipment refresh activities.
- Support IT asset management processes, including inventory tracking, auditing, and lifecycle management.
- Help troubleshoot hardware, software, network connectivity, and user access issues.
- Assist with user account administration, onboarding, offboarding, and access management activities.
- Create and maintain technical documentation, standard operating procedures, and knowledge base articles.
- Perform routine system health checks and operational tasks to help ensure a stable IT environment.
- Partner with global IT teams to support infrastructure, application, and workplace technology initiatives.
- Contribute to automation, process improvement, and digital transformation projects.
- Apply cybersecurity and data protection best practices while supporting day-to-day operations.
- Any other tasks and duties as required.
Who we’re looking for
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, Computer Engineering, Network Engineering, or a related field.
- Available to commit to a minimum 6-month internship period.
- Work Location: Kulim or Batu Kawan
- Strong interest in IT infrastructure, technical support, networking, and enterprise technologies.
- Basic understanding of Windows operating systems, computer hardware, and networking concepts.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating in a team environment.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and adapt to changing priorities.
Preferred qualifications
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, Computer Engineering, Network Engineering, or a related field.

Lam offers a variety of work location models based on the needs of each role. Our hybrid roles combine the benefits of on-site collaboration with colleagues and the flexibility to work remotely and fall into two categories – On-site Flex and Virtual Flex. ‘On-site Flex’ you’ll work 3+ days per week on-site at a Lam or customer/supplier location, with the opportunity to work remotely for the balance of the week. ‘Virtual Flex’ you’ll work 1-2 days per week on-site at a Lam or customer/supplier location, and remotely the rest of the time.
