About this role

The Assistant Manager is responsible for overseeing daily restaurant operations, ensuring adequate staffing levels, and delivering exceptional guest service that meets or exceeds brand standards. This role manages food and beverage quality, health and safety compliance, cash handling procedures, inventory control, and communication between front-of-house, kitchen, bar, and other departments. The Assistant Manager monitors operational efficiency, maintains cleanliness and safety standards, controls costs, manages POS updates, supports new menu implementations, and addresses guest needs, including special requests and large-party reservations. They are also expected to uphold Laguna Development Corporation’s core values, model professionalism, build strong guest relationships, and contribute to a positive team-oriented environment.

The position includes significant leadership responsibilities, such as hiring, training, scheduling, coaching, evaluating, disciplining, and motivating employees while fostering teamwork and employee morale. Candidates should have at least two years of relevant leadership experience, a basic understanding of food and beverage operations, and proficiency with computer systems, POS platforms, and restaurant equipment. The role requires strong problem-solving, organizational, communication, and time-management skills, along with the ability to work under pressure, including weekends and holidays. Additional requirements include being at least 21 years old, possessing a valid driver’s license, passing pre-employment screening, and obtaining ServSafe Manager and Alcohol Certification within 30 days of hire. The work is performed primarily in a fast-paced restaurant environment with regular physical activity, including standing, walking, lifting, and supervising daily operations.
