LaBella is looking for a Civil Engineer who wants to advance both personally and professionally in the Land Development engineering discipline. Our Land Development team is looking for a motivated individual who desires collaboration, from project master planning through final construction close out. The successful candidate will be working closely with both new and seasoned team members to create engineering solutions for our clients that are often complex yet grounded in fundamentals in our discipline. A key role for you will be to work with our internal teams as well as with our client partners to provide initial layouts of projects for evaluation, preliminary design documentation and reports for permitting, and construction documents. The candidate will be working on a variety of project types, including commercial and residential developments, athletic field design, education facilities and improvements, and other land development related projects.
Job Duties
- Working as a team member with the Civil Design Team, prepare site and subdivision plans for permit approval by local municipalities and State agencies.
- Perform detailed hydrologic calculations for sizing stormwater systems, preparation of stormwater management and erosion and sediment control plans.
- Perform detailed hydraulic calculations for adequately conveying stormwater runoff, and sizing of water quality and stormwater detention basins.
- Collaboratively work with teams to create site design(s) that solve a client’s need.
- Assist with CAD drafting to produce effective and high-quality project documents, including reports, drawings, and specifications.
- Perform site visits and attend project meetings as needed by the client.
- Assist with preparation of bid documents and provide construction administration services as needed.
- Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering.
- 3-5+ years of experience.
- Experience with HydroCAD, or other hydrologic modeling software.
- Experience with AutoCAD/Civil 3D, including built-in tools for designing pipe networks, surfaces, corridor modeling, feature line grading, earthwork calculations and other tools.
- Registered as an EI and on track to become a PE is preferred.
- Ability to design in a team environment in multi-disciplinary projects.
- Effective communication skills using oral, graphic, and written forms.
- Ability to manage workload and budgets as allocated by Team Leaders.
- Ability to travel to job sites as needed.
