About this role

LAB3 is one of Australasia’s largest Azure engineering practices, specialising in Cloud & DevOps, Data, IoT & AI, Modern Workplace, Security, and Networks. We’re looking for a Senior Full Stack Developer to join our Technology Team, building the internal platforms that help LAB3 run and delivering AI-powered applications for our clients.

The role:

- Own software end to end, taking features from architecture through to production and the support that follows across frontend, backend, data and Azure infrastructure.

- Build clean React/TypeScript user experiences, well-designed APIs and services, sensible data models and deployments you can confidently stand behind.

- Build with AI and build AI: use agentic coding tools such as Claude Code, Copilot and similar to work smarter, while integrating models, retrieval patterns, agents, evaluation and guardrails into what we ship.

- Deliver AI-powered applications and internal products, moving between LAB3 platforms such as agent orchestration, FinOps and pricing tooling, and client-facing AI project delivery.

- Work closely with consultants, architects and clients to translate ambiguous business outcomes into concrete technical solutions and working software.

- Set a high engineering bar through mentoring, thoughtful reviews, pragmatic trade-off conversations, testing, observability and operational ownership.

The ideal candidate:

- Strong end-to-end full stack experience, typically 5+ years, with real depth across modern frontend, backend services, APIs, relational data and cloud deployment.

- Hands-on experience with React/TypeScript, PostgreSQL and Python, with the ability to design, ship, operate and improve production software.

- Practical Azure experience, or clear evidence you can get strong quickly across App Services, Functions, Storage, Identity and CI/CD.

- Demonstrated current use of AI development tooling in your day-to-day workflow, plus experience shipping a feature or product using LLM integration, RAG, agents or similar.

- Excellent collaboration and communication skills, including the ability to work directly with non-engineers and clients and mentor other developers.

- Resident, with full working rights, in Australia or New Zealand.
