Primary Function:
The Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for leading a 2nd shift maintenance department comprised of maintenance personnel, maintenance clerks and planners. This position ensures the team supports the operational goals through effective maintenance of our manufacturing equipment.
Responsibilities:
- Partner with Manufacturing Engineering, Technicians, and Operations to ensure effective communication on plant equipment issues to optimize uptime and schedule attainment
- Collaborate with plant production supervision to schedule maintenance and repair of equipment and facilities
- Work with engineering, supervisors, and safety to identify and quickly resolve any safety issues
- Work closely with engineering and purchasing to identify key spare parts to be stocked in the crib and their appropriate stocking levels.
- Drive continuous improvement efficiencies in maintenance key processes
- Maintain employee records such as attendance, training, and general performance
- Administer company policies, procedures and negotiated contract provisions in a union environment
- Facilitate the fabrication and/or installation of equipment
Job Requirements:
- Associate degree in Technology, Skilled Trades Certification or related training and experience preferred
- In-depth experience in mechanical, electrical, and electronic repairs of production equipment and operating systems
- Oracle or similar ERP system experience preferred
- Ability to read and interpret drawings and blueprints
- Strong knowledge of industrial diagnostic and problem-solving techniques including the use of PLC logic ladders
- Proficient in standard computer software such as Word, Excel, and Microsoft Outlook.
- Strong verbal and written communications skills
- Ability to quickly grasp and implement new ideas, concepts, and programs to improve maintenance department efficiency
- Availability to work daily and weekend overtime as assigned
