KEY RESPONSIBILITIES (other duties as assigned):
- Manage and allocate resources within the department, including Engineering, Continuous Improvement and Time Study.
- Perform annual reviews for all immediate reports.
- Support plant production of existing product lines with a focus on eliminating DTFs while identifying and implementing best lean practices improving the processes. Establish, manage, and enforce the standard operating processes for all operations within the business.
- Interact as a member of the Plant Lead Team in developing strategic vision and action plans, ensuring the quality management system is implemented, functioning effectively and continuously improved through coordination with the VP/General Manager.
- Consolidate Continuous Improvement processes and ideas between each facility and streamline them towards one joint goal. Provide multiple levels of training for all department team members: lean training, quality training, team building, cross training, etc., assisting each team member in growing individually in preparation for further advancement.
- Assist Operations in the training of operators on new procedures, oversee all projects campus wide, assuring that they are meeting objectives and projected savings.
- Facilitate individuals or teams through a formal problem solving methodology and develop a prioritizing system for problem solving initiatives.
- Facilitate interpretation of the budget and impact of the countermeasures and verify savings accomplished and align them with target costing and divisional initiatives.
SCOPE & IMPACT:
Responsible for a business unit, in most cases a plant or large department within the organization. Managing process within that organization that will indirectly impact up to 100M in managed volume. Indirectly impact equipment inside the plant/department of up to 10M.
Acting as Operations Leadership Business Partner, you will serve as a member of site leadership to develop business strategies and goals. Analyze and assess business metrics (and processes across the business to identify impactful improvement. Provide subject matter expertise across the department/location to assess current processes and identify process/performance gaps and improvement opportunities. Lead and implement process improvement across the value stream to drive utilizing lean concepts.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field with 8-10 years of relevant experience including 3-5 years of supervisory/leadership experience or equivalent
- Travel Required: Up to 10%
PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS:
- Master's degree
- Six Sigma Green Belt
- Lean or Lean Six Sigma.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: Up to 8 direct reports
PHYSICAL DEMANDS/WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Often required to sit, repetitive hand motion (such as typing), hear, listen, talk, stand, walk and lift – up 20 pounds. Seldom required to climb ladders, kneel, squat, crouch, balance, reach overhead, pull, push or lift – up to 50 pounds.
