Description
We are looking for a self-motivated, energetic Maintenance Worker II who possesses the desire to care for Kentucky’s Veterans.

Expectations for this position include but are not limited to:
  • Responsible for the care maintenance and appearance of grounds and exterior of building.
  • Repairs and maintains all grounds equipment, including mowers, trimmers, edger’s and other associated equipment.
  • Removes trash and debris from facility grounds.
  • Maintains plants, grass, trees, shrubs and flowers.
  • Assists in snow and ice removal during inclement weather.
  • Paints walls in resident rooms and other duties as assigned.

This position has an approved Locality Premium of $3.66, based on the organizational structure and work county it is currently assigned to, in compliance with 101 KAR 2:034 Section 9(1).
Minimum Requirements
EDUCATION: NONE

EXPERIENCE, TRAINING, OR SKILLS: One year of building maintenance, grounds maintenance, general trades, skilled trades, moving services, or mechanical maintenance experience.

Substitute EDUCATION for EXPERIENCE: Formal training in one of the above or related fields will substitute for the experience on a year-for-year basis.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS (AGE, LICENSURE, REGULATION, ETC.): Must be 18 years of age.
Working Conditions
Incumbents in this job title may be exposed to extreme temperatures which requires the following of safety procedures. Must follow safety procedures, such as utilization of eye and ear protection, when utilizing certain mechanical equipment.
Probationary Period
This job has an initial and promotional probationary period of 6 months, except as provided in KRS 18A.111.
