About the Role:

The FEMA NISTAC Badged Financial Advisor plays a critical role in providing expert financial guidance and support within the framework of federal emergency management operations. This position requires a deep understanding of financial regulations, compliance standards, and budgeting processes specific to government agencies, particularly FEMA and NISTAC. The advisor will be responsible for ensuring that financial strategies align with organizational goals while maintaining strict adherence to federal policies and security protocols. Collaboration with cross-functional teams to analyze financial data, forecast budgets, and optimize resource allocation is essential to support mission-critical initiatives. Ultimately, this role ensures the effective management of financial resources to enhance operational readiness and resilience in emergency management contexts across the United States.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Active FEMA and NISTAC security clearance or the ability to obtain and maintain such clearance.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in financial advisory or management roles within federal government or emergency management sectors.
  • Strong knowledge of federal financial regulations, budgeting processes, and compliance standards.
  • Proven experience with financial reporting, auditing, and grant management in a government context.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in Finance, Public Administration, or a related discipline.
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Certified Government Financial Manager (CGFM), or equivalent certification.
  • Experience working directly with FEMA or NISTAC programs and understanding their operational frameworks.
  • Familiarity with federal emergency management policies and procedures.
  • Advanced proficiency in financial software and data analysis tools commonly used in government agencies.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement comprehensive financial plans and budgets in alignment with FEMA and NISTAC requirements.
  • Monitor and analyze financial performance, identifying trends and recommending corrective actions to ensure fiscal responsibility.
  • Ensure compliance with federal financial regulations, including auditing standards and reporting requirements.
  • Collaborate with program managers and stakeholders to provide financial insights that support strategic decision-making.
  • Maintain and safeguard sensitive financial information in accordance with security protocols associated with FEMA and NISTAC badging.
  • Prepare detailed financial reports and presentations for senior leadership and federal oversight bodies.
  • Support grant management processes, including application, tracking, and reporting of federal funds.
  • Participate in risk assessment and mitigation planning related to financial operations within emergency management projects.
