Delivery Center Lead

SUMMARY: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to stand, lift, walk, and sit. The employee frequently lifts and/or moves 50 pounds and occasionally 75 pounds. Specific vision ability required by this job includes close vision, distance vision, and the ability to adjust focus. Employee must be able to climb in and out of vehicle.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Assistin Planning, organizing, and overseeing daily transportation operations,utilizingDescartes routingsoftware tooptimizedelivery routes and schedules.
• Maintainaccuraterecords of deliveries and transportation expenses.
• Act as a backup Supervisor in the absence of theDeliveryCenter Supervisor.
• Assistin interviewing, hiring, and trainingnew drivers, while ensuring all employees adhere to company policies and procedures.
• Manage driver performance, including conducting performance evaluations, providing feedback, and taking corrective action as needed.
• Communicate effectively with internal teams and external customers to ensuretimelyandaccuratedeliveries
• Deliver automotive parts to fulfill orders.
• Perform other duties as assigned as business needschange.

QUALIFICATIONS

• 1-2 years of experience managing people performance and leading others
• Experience in the transportation industry, specifically final-mile delivery
• Ability to adapt quickly to changing business and environmental conditions
• Strong communicationand interpersonal skills
• Ability to pass a Drug Test and background screening 
• Able to reach, bend, lift, pull and push up to 75lbs
• Validdriverslicense
• 4-year college degree preferred

Requires sitting for relatively long periods of time, while driving and not. It also requires frequent bending, climbing, movement, and lifting of up to 75 pounds during the physical loading/unloading of vehicles and when stocking products. Specific vision ability required by this job includes close vision, distance vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
