Incoming Mechanical Inspector
About this role
Join Krpton Solutions as an Incoming Mechanical Inspector, you ensure incoming machined, raw, and fabricated parts match drawings, purchase orders, and customer requirements before they move into production. You'll perform dimensional checks using calipers, micrometers, gauges, and magnification; complete visual inspections for finishes and applied processes; and verify documentation such as CoCs, FAI reports, and packing lists. You'll identify nonconforming material, tag/segregate it, update the MRB log, and support CAPA activities. You'll also record pass/fail results and traceability in the ERP/QMS while meeting required procedures and turnaround expectations.
Make a difference as an Incoming Mechanical Inspector
- Dimensional Inspection: Verify physical dimensions of machined parts, raw material and fabricated parts using calipers, micrometers, and other tools as required to verify tolerances.
- Visual Inspection: Ensure all parts meet customer requirements regarding paint, chemical conversion, and all other processes applied to the material.
- Documentation Verification: Inspect drawings to identify the product meets the required documentation.
- Supplier Certifications: Review incoming documentation, including Certificates of Compliance (CoC), Reports, First Article Inspection (FAI) reports and Packing Lists again Purchase Orders.
- Non-Conforming Material: Identify, tag, and segregate defective material. Add information to the MRB log and support the Corrective Action and Preventive Action (CAPA) process.
- Maintain Quality Records: Accurately enter inspection results, pass / fail data, and material traceability information into the ERP / QMS system.
- Inspect material per IPC-A-610 Class 2 and3 and J-STD-001 + Space, Class 2 and 3.
- Inspect products in a timely manner while following all required procedures.
- Visually inspect products using magnification, first article checks, and measuring devices such as calipers and gauges.
- Other duties may be assigned.
What we are looking for in an Incoming Mechanical Inspector
- IPC Certification is strongly preferred.
- High School Diploma or relevant studies and / or training supporting this position.
- 2+ years' experience in mechanical inspection, manufacturing quality control or precision machining, specifically in an AS9100 or ISO 13485 manufacturing environment.
- Ability to interpret assembly drawings, bill of materials and process instructions.
- Familiarity with inspection aids and tools required to perform inspection and assembly functions.
- Basic computer skills for data entry, quality record keeping and report generation.
