Overview
The Managing Director will sit within the Complex Digital Events team and anchor Kroll’s consolidated national security offering originating and expanding work across national security regulatory compliance, enforcement response, investigations, cyber and strategic advisory. The role will deepen relationships with strategic law firms, private equity and multinationals, and lets Kroll sell an integrated legal-regulatory—cyber-intelligence-compliance solution.
Key Responsibilities
Practice Leadership & Growth
- Help to develop and execute the strategic vision for the National Security Advisory practice.
- Build and expand consulting capabilities across cybersecurity, telecommunications security, Team Telecom compliance, foreign ownership risk management, and national security regulatory advisory services.
- Drive revenue growth through business development, client acquisition, and expansion of existing client relationships.
- Identify emerging market opportunities related to national security, cyber regulation, telecommunications policy, and critical infrastructure protection.
- Establish strategic partnerships with industry organizations, law firms, technology providers, and government stakeholders.
Client Advisory Services
- Serve as an advisor to clients on national security, cyber risk, telecommunications security, and regulatory compliance matters.
- Lead complex engagements involving:
- Team Telecom & CFIUS reviews and mitigation agreements
- National security assessments for telecommunications providers
- Foreign ownership, control, or influence (FOCI) evaluations
- DOJ Data Security Programs (DSP)
- Export Controls
- Cross-border transaction risk assessments
- Critical infrastructure cybersecurity strategy
- Supply chain and vendor risk management
- Telecommunications network security reviews
- Incident preparedness and cyber resilience planning
- FCC and national security-related compliance obligations
- Advise executive leadership teams and boards on strategic national security and cyber risk issues.
- Present findings and recommendations to regulators, executives, investors, and legal counsel.
Team Telecom & Telecommunications Security Advisory
- Lead client engagements involving Team Telecom & CFIUS reviews and interactions with federal agencies.
- Advise telecommunications providers and investors on regulatory requirements, risk mitigation strategies, and national security obligations.
- Support clients in preparing submissions, mitigation frameworks, and compliance programs related to telecommunications licensing and ownership structures.
- Monitor developments in telecommunications policy, national security regulations, and international technology risk landscapes.
Cybersecurity & National Security Risk Advisory
- Guide clients in identifying and mitigating cyber risks that affect national security, critical infrastructure, and telecommunications operations.
- Oversee cyber risk assessments, threat-informed security programs, and resilience initiatives.
- Advise on nation-state threat actors, cyber espionage risks, supply chain security, and operational technology security.
- Develop integrated solutions spanning cybersecurity, regulatory compliance, governance, and risk management.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Political Science, International Affairs, Law, Engineering, Telecommunications, or a related field.
- Advanced degree (MBA, MPA, JD, Master's in Cybersecurity, National Security, International Relations, or related discipline).
- 15+ years of experience in consulting, national security, cybersecurity, telecommunications, government, regulatory affairs, or related sectors.
- Demonstrated leadership experience managing large consulting practices, advisory teams, or business units.
Deep knowledge of:
Team Telecom & CFIUS processes and regulatory frameworks
National security risk management
DOJ DSP and export controls
Telecommunications security and regulatory requirements
Cybersecurity governance and risk management
Critical infrastructure protection
Foreign investment and ownership risk considerations
- Active or previously held U.S. security clearance.
- Proven success in business development and executive client relationship management.
- Exceptional executive communication and stakeholder management skills.
