Position Summary

The Technical Training Supervisor ensures the delivery of training content is effective and meets the organization’s needs. Working closely with Training Manager and Operations leadership, the Supervisor supports training objectives by proposing training solutions for specific skill and knowledge gaps. The Supervisor is responsible for reviewing training content and quality, overseeing the training staff, and managing the logistics required to support company-wide technical training activities.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Maintain thorough industry knowledge, including new equipment and technology requirements to support the Kodiak fleet of compressor equipment (all engine, compressor, panel, and electrical components) and any ESG-regulation-driven updates
  • Meet with subject matter experts in each function of the organization to understand skill or knowledge gaps that can be addressed through targeted training efforts
  • Supervise technical trainers, including workload management, performance coaching, ongoing development, and accountability for training quality and learner outcomes
    • Conduct trainer observations and complete Trainer Audit & Feedback evaluations.
    • Provide coaching, feedback, and development opportunities to strengthen facilitation skills and training effectiveness.
    • Complete performance reviews and support employee development planning.
  • Collaborate with the Training & Development Specialist on the planning and coordination of technical training schedules, ensuring adequate class utilization, equitable training access for field locations, and alignment with organizational training objectives.
  • Partner with the Instructional Designer and subject matter experts to develop, review, and continuously improve training content that addresses organizational skill gaps and business needs.
  • Facilitation of training sessions, as needed
  • Oversee the full training lifecycle, including needs assessment, program implementation, measurement of training effectiveness, and reporting of key performance metrics to leadership.
  • Manages the execution of Training department goals and projects to meet target deadlines
  • Maintain influential relationships with all departments and functions within the organization, serving as a go-to representative for training and development needs throughout Kodiak
  • Training Department P&L review and oversight

Education, Experience, & Training

  • This role requires in-depth knowledge of the oilfield and all aspects of compressor mechanics. The ideal candidate has 5-10 years of experience in Operations of the gas compression industry and demonstrates a passion for continued learning.
  • Over 5 years proven experience as a technical trainer in the gas compression industry
  • High school diploma required, bachelor’s degree in education or related discipline is a plus.
  • Understanding of Adult Learning principles preferred

Physical Demands

  • Required to sit for long periods of time as needed
  • Required to visit the field and move around the compressor, as needed, standing for long periods of time
  • Must be able to work under pressure and occasional long or irregular hours
  • Travel requirements, up to 60%

Qualifications

  • Experience developing new technical training course content
  • Professionalism and ability to relate to and effectively communicate with people from diverse backgrounds and experience levels
  • Leadership and mentor skills
  • Flexibility and ability to manage multiple concurrent projects
  • Understanding of an oilfield service organization preferred
  • Proven experience in organizational training
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work well with others.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong understanding of learning management tools, with Learning Management System (LMS) experience
  • Workday Learning experience preferred
  • Proficient use of Microsoft Office
  • Management skills required
