Job Summary

The Senior Director, Supply Chain Services is responsible for supporting KMC's growth path within the framework of strategy. The Senior Director takes a leading role in the development, review, and optimization of processes, methods, and tools for the KMC purchasing organization under strategic, global, and cross-functional aspects. Topics include: 

•  Automation of internal & vendor facing purchasing activities

•  Acquisition & structuring of supplier data

•  Development of supplier performance & segmentation strategies

•  Demand forecasting & planning schedule alignment w/ key suppliers

•  Inventory management & accountability frameworks

•  Performance reporting & rebate management

•  Supplier capacity reporting & outages

Summary of Essential Job Functions/Responsibilities 

•  Management of the Procurement Excellence Portfolio

•  Define & document Procurement Excellence roadmap in conjunction with PMO department, Executive leadership, and Procurement stakeholders

•  Integrate and participate in Global projects and initiatives to ensure KMC needs are met by global initiatives

•  Interface with IT, Commercial, Operations, and Digital stakeholders to collaboratively define business rules and solutions to support the organization’s strategy

•  Coordinate with other Transformation Team Members such as Excellence Managers in Value Chain (Sales, Operations, etc), Process Managers, Data Analytics, Digital Product Managers, and Master Data Managers to ensure the full weight of continuous improvement investments are leveraged for stakeholders

•  Assessment of Purchasing team’s capabilities, coverage, pipeline, and gaps in order to create a Best-In-Class organization

Qualifications

•  Problem-solving and analytical skills to interpret sales performance and market trends

•  Results driven individual with high-performance standards of themselves and others, with the ability to motivate and lead the sales team

•  Bachelor’s degree; or a minimum of 7 years of proven management experience, in the metals industry; or the equivalent combination of formal education and experience

•  Excellent oral and written communication skills

•  Technical/Digital Proficiency

•  People leadership: motivating, influencing, and empowering

•  Delegating and directing work

•  Time and priority management

•  Excellent customer service skills

•  Microsoft Office skills: Word, Excel and PowerPoint
