Job Summary

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for coordinating all OEM equipment PM service work and internal breakdowns to include addressing immediate operational and/or safety concerns and ensuring all equipment and machines are in good working order.

Summary of Essential Job Functions/Responsibilities 

  • Ensures operation of the facility and operational equipment by completing preventive maintenance requests, working with OEM on production equipment to include lasers, plasma/flame, press brakes, CNC Mill, fork trucks up to 45,000# capacity.
  • Locates sources of problems by observing mechanical devices in operation and working with OEM manufacturer.
  • Ability to perform facility maintenance tasks and working with outside contractors
  • Controls downtime by informing production scheduler of routine preventive maintenance performed by OEM manufacturer and or internal maintenance
  • Fabricates repair parts by internal engineering and company equipment
  • Maintains spare parts inventory provided by OEM
  • Conserves maintenance resources by using equipment and supplies as needed to accomplish job results
  • Works with equipment OEM manufacturers to troubleshoot and address any sudden breakdowns
  • Prepares mechanical maintenance information to include all work order requests and document in company maintenance software
  • Maintains technical knowledge by attending educational workshops and establishing personal networks for equipment and parts suppliers
  • Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations
  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed

Qualifications

  • High school degree and technical background required, trade/vocational school preferred
  • Minimum 2 years mechanical experience required, agricultural and/or automotive a plus
  • Strong background in electrical systems (including wiring schematics), hydraulics, air brakes and diesel engines as well as transmissions and clutches
  • Great communication skills, ability to work well with others and exchange skills and knowledge with other company employees
  • Able to work without direct supervision
  • Class A CDL a plus
  • Service shop experience preferred
  • Ability to lift heavy mechanical components and work outside in all types of weather
  • Demonstrated reliable work history and ability to work independently
  • Ability to pass a physical examination for vision, hearing, and mobility
  • Must be detail-oriented with a strong focus on precision and quality in all tasks
