About Kilnbridge

Kilnbridge is the UK’s leading structures specialist, delivering some of the country’s most complex and iconic engineering, construction and infrastructure projects. Our expertise spans the full lifecycle of a structure - design, build, adapt, repair and protect - delivered by four specialist operational businesses that combine seamlessly as One Kilnbridge to meet any project’s needs.

We are purpose led, focused on building a sustainable and resilient future for the UK, with a reputation for technical excellence, safety and quality built over 35 years. As an employee-owned business, our people are at the heart of everything we do - empowered to contribute, innovate and help shape our continued success.

If you want to develop your expertise, contribute to technically challenging projects and be part of a collaborative team, we’d love to hear from you.

The Role

Sustainability is no longer a reporting exercise – it's a critical part of how major infrastructure and construction projects are delivered. At Kilnbridge, we're looking for a passionate and experienced Lead Sustainability Advisor who wants to make a genuine impact across some of the UK's most significant and technically challenging projects.

This is a highly visible role where you'll influence project teams, engage directly with clients and stakeholders, and help shape the environmental and social legacy of our work. You'll be at the forefront of driving carbon reduction, resource efficiency, circular economy principles and meaningful social value outcomes, helping ensure sustainability is embedded from planning through to project delivery.

Working closely with our Head of Sustainability and senior operational teams, you'll provide expert guidance across multiple projects, champion best practice and play a key role in delivering Kilnbridge's sustainability ambitions.

If you're looking for a role where you can influence decisions, build relationships, drive change and leave a positive legacy on projects, communities and the environment, we'd love to hear from you.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Leading environmental, sustainability and social value initiatives across a diverse portfolio of projects

  • Supporting project teams to deliver outstanding environmental performance while meeting legislative, client and company requirements

  • Driving carbon reduction, resource efficiency, waste minimisation and circular economy initiatives across project delivery

  • Undertaking audits, inspections and compliance reviews, identifying opportunities to continuously improve performance

  • Providing technical advice on environmental risks, sustainability opportunities and best practice solutions

  • Monitoring and reporting sustainability performance, including environmental metrics, BREEAM targets and social value outcomes

  • Building strong relationships with clients, regulators, consultants, supply chain partners and project stakeholders

  • Supporting the delivery and continual improvement of our Environmental Management System (ISO 14001)

  • Developing meaningful community engagement, volunteering and social value initiatives that create lasting local benefits

  • Delivering training, awareness programmes and sustainability campaigns that inspire positive behavioural change across the business

  • Representing Kilnbridge at client meetings, industry forums and sustainability-focused events

What We're Looking For

  • We're looking for someone who combines strong technical expertise with the ability to inspire and influence others.

  • A degree in Environmental Management, Environmental Engineering or a related discipline

  • Previous experience in environmental, sustainability or social value roles within construction, infrastructure or related sectors

  • Strong knowledge of environmental legislation, compliance requirements and environmental management systems

  • Experience of ISO 14001, BREEAM or similar sustainability frameworks

  • An understanding of carbon management, embodied carbon, resource efficiency and circular economy principles

  • Experience undertaking audits, inspections and environmental risk management activities

  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the confidence to influence at all levels

  • The ability to manage multiple priorities within a fast-paced project environment

  • A proactive mindset and a genuine passion for creating positive environmental and social outcomes

  • Most importantly, you'll share our values of Responsibility, Integrity, Teamwork and Excellence and be committed to helping us build a more sustainable future.
