Job Summary
The Distribution Center (DC) Team Leader plays a critical role in ensuring inventory accuracy, operational efficiency, and workplace safety throughout Killington Resort's distribution operations. Serving as a primary inbound gatekeeper, this position is responsible for receiving, verifying, and accurately recording incoming inventory before it is released for distribution to resort outlets. The Team Leader also supports Food & Beverage and Retail operations by maintaining storage standards, coordinating inventory activities, enforcing safety requirements, and providing leadership coverage during supervisor absences.
Summary of Key Responsibilities
Responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following:
Receive and verify incoming shipments against purchase orders and packing slips.
Inspect merchandise for damage, shortages, and discrepancies; communicate issues promptly to the Distribution Center Supervisor.
Ensure all inventory is properly tagged, labeled, and entered into the inventory management system in real time.
Maintain accountability for inbound inventory and ensure items are fully processed before release to outbound delivery teams.
Assign and monitor warehouse bin locations to support inventory accuracy and organization.
Monitor and enforce safety standards throughout the Distribution Center and remote storage locations.
Oversee Food & Beverage storage areas to ensure compliance with food safety and operational standards.
Serve as a secondary point of contact for Food & Beverage and Retail teams regarding inventory availability, storage requirements, and delivery coordination.
Provide operational leadership and supervision during Distribution Center Supervisor absences.
Support inventory audits, cycle counts, and stock accuracy initiatives.
Assist with maintaining daily workflow, delivery schedules, and departmental productivity.
QualificationsBasic Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
1–3 years of experience in warehousing, logistics, retail distribution, food distribution, or related operations preferred.
Experience using inventory management software such as Yellow Dog or a similar warehouse management system preferred.
Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
Ability to frequently lift, move, and carry merchandise weighing up to 50 pounds.
Ability to stand, walk, bend, and perform physical warehouse duties for extended periods.
Ability to work weekends, holidays, and flexible schedules based on business needs.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Strong attention to detail and commitment to inventory accuracy.
Ability to identify and resolve discrepancies in receiving, storage, and inventory records.
Working knowledge of warehouse operations, inventory control processes, and safety procedures.
Strong organizational and time-management skills in a fast-paced environment.
